Courage

The one sister I chose is Minerva because she tries to readjust to her daily life after coming back home. This shows a ton if courage just by seeing her daily life. By going through the motions and trying to get better but suffers by getting all that attention. Being I would try to get more people motivated even more but hey thats just me, anyway the fact remains even though she suffering from being in prison she gathers her courage once again when she sees her husband. Who can blame her she gets her courage by trying to fight others fights for them. Ahh such courage almost reminds me of  Simon kid always had that trait going for him. This has been done by her and is inspired one more time to stand on her own two feet to fight once more. The theme of this time is of being selfless and it is never a nice to take but always leads to doing the the person is doing the thing that is right. This can ether be good thing or a bad one but it shows poeple true character by showing how courageous she is by doing this.

Why is it important?

In the newest chapter that I have read there has been many signs of parallelism that how worried Patria is and how each of these of these things are.  She stated this like so "I saw tiny cells with very little air and no light. I heard the door open, I saw hands intrusive and ugly in their threats. I saw the crack of bones breaking, the thud of a body collapsing." (Alvarez 201) The author is trying to show how fearful she was of what was going on. This showed that when you were going to prison back then there was little of getting out alive by seeing how the people reacted and the show of importance to specific details. The seriousness of the situation in the chapter dropped to drastic levels. This shows a theme related to despair on how even in the most happy situations things always do not fall through. By doing this Alvarez  has shown the troubling times that people had to go through.
Yup I am glad that I never ended up in one of these.

Let the challenges begin!!!

In chapter eight Patria has an epiphany of sorts that pushes her to strive for something better after seeing an event that could change potentially anyone. These events changed her view point on the events that are going on in the country. This was what she though when she was going down the mountain "Coming down that mountain, I was a changed women."(Alvarez 162) This was the start of her and her husband joining the resistance and I do say is impressive since her resolve resembles that  of the people who I fought along side with. The change was major and the events that followed could have stopped anyone from going on but she did not. She decided it was enough and she had to do something so her kids were not hurt in the future. This shows a theme in how people can change given a good enough reason to do so. To change like this is a hard enough but to actually do something is impressive.

Symbol

In the book there was a scene were a symbol was used to show two wills clashing against each other. This was shown by being described as said " For a moment, I imagine them evenly balanced, his will on one side, mine on the other."(Alverez 115) This was a symbol that represented people back then when they fought against Trujillo. It showed how people tried their best to go against the man that was a danger to them. It showed a lot of significance that even small victories meant to the people. This reminds me of battles that me and my men fought for and sowed a theme defiance against those who ruled unfairly.

Conflicted with many things

In the story so far there has many conflicts both being external and internal conflicts so far. Okay I tried sounding serious but it is not working for me, anyways too many problems involving that Minerva girl. With the external problem would be the tension in her family between her parents and damn that causes some problems as she rams her car in to her father's car. I was laughing so hard when I read about the man's shock, I mean really did he think he could get away with it. Then there is her love life as she says this in her head "Both, both, both I want both." (Minerva pg. 86) This is a hard situation as she wants to try and follow her own believes to gain her own FREEDOM. Ahhh I remember my days fighting for my beliefs such fun but anyways back to the main point she seems to be having a hard tie.
Bet she wanted to do this t her dad.

Test

Testing...Testing.... seems this works all works nice and dandy. So I found this book about things that happened a while back and started reading it. The book is pretty interesting and will post things about it from now on.
